*Atma drop randomly from any FATE in that zone. It is completely random: you may get 3 atmas in the space of an hour or just 1 atma after three days.
*You can only ever own one book at a time. Each book is specific to a weapon and you must be equipped with the Atma Relic Weapon you wish to enhance when making the purchase.
**The drop rate is suggested to be somewhere around 2%; which means on average at least 600 FATEs for all 12 atmas ([).
*Must equip the corresponding weapon in order for any completed task to be registered.
**Being in a party or having your Chocobo out has no effect on the suggested 2% chance of drop.
*Buying a second book will automatically dispose of the first one. If the first book has not been completed it will need to be redone.
***Being able to finish FATEs faster, however, will allow for more chances in the same amount of time.
*For FATEs:

*You must be equipped with a Zenith Relic Weapon in order to get Atma; however this can be any Zenith Relic Weapon / job.
**Each map has a maximum number of FATEs available at any one time. Therefore you may need to clear other FATEs in order to get the one you need to spawn.
*Atmas go into your normal inventory rather than your Key Item inventory. Make sure you have free space in your inventory.
**Some FATEs will only spawn when triggered (either by talking to an NPC at the location or in a nearby location; or after the completion of a previous FATE as part of a chain).
*Your rating in the FATE doesn't affect your drop rate; however only successfully completed FATEs will drop atmas
**It is not uncommon for people to ask over the zone chat when the last rare FATE has spawned.

*For Dungeons:
*Because the quest is marked as "completed" after the explanation from Jalzahn; the game does not automatically track the number / type of atams in your collection.
**You must have your Atma Zodiac Weapon equipped for the final boss for it to count (Source).
*You can collect multiple Atmas of the same kind; however only one of each type is used per weapon upgrade.
**You must be alive when the final boss of the dungeon is killed. If you are dead, it will not count towards completion of the book (Source).
