Lore

Dwelling in the depths of the Ruby Sea, the denizens of Sui-no-Sato have long shunned the world above. Not even fisherfolk or the Confederacy, who share the same waters, have had much contact with these reclusive folk.

History

In ages past, weary of the wars that rage ceaselessly on the Azim Steppe, a clan of Au Ra fled to neighboring Yanxia to seek out new lives. In the beginning, they met with scorn from the region’s native inhabitants, but through perseverance and hard work they won the favor of influential families and gained acceptance. This clan was known as the Raen, and its members would spread across the Far East, from the lands of Nagxia to the isles of Hingashi.

No matter where they came to be, with their innate martial prowess, they readily found employment as soldiers and carved out places for themselves within spheres of authority. Yet not all chose this life. Some few desired to leave conflict behind completely, and availing themselves of Kojin wisdom, they created a great bubble of air at the bottom of the Ruby Sea, within which they built a village—Sui-no-Sato. To govern their fledgling society, they founded a system of hereditary rule led by the Ruby Princess, under whose guidance they live a life of seclusion, away from the troubles and turmoils of the surface.
