Summary

Combat

• Because level 90 gear is released over the course of several major patches, players do not necessarily need to slowly increment the item level of their gear if they have recently reached level 90, and can instead jump directly to the highest item level gear that is most accessible.
• Players who recently reached level 89 - 90 should collect Artifact Weapons and Artifact Armor (both item level 560) for free. The Last Accessories (item level 560) drop from three dungeons:  The Dead Ends,  Smileton, and  The Stigma Dreamscape, but these do not need to be "farmed" to proceed with further upgrades.
• Current uncapped CBlue gear ( Allagan Tomestone of Causality): Lunar Envoy's Weapons, Lunar Envoy's Armor, and Lunar Envoy's Accessories (item level 620)
• Deep Dungeon weapons: Orthos Weapons (item level 620)
  • Requires completion of floor 30 of  Eureka Orthos
  • Enaretos Weapons (item level 625) require completing floor 100 of Eureka Orthos.
• Current BGreen gear ( The Lunar Subterrane): ??? Armor and ??? Accessories (item level 635)
• Current crafted gear: Diadochos Weapons, Diadochos Armor, and Diadochos Accessories (item level 640). These should always be obtained as high quality.
  • These can be indirectly exchanged for Augmented Diadochos Weapons, Augmented Diadochos Armor, and Augmented Diadochos Accessories (item level 650) using Allagan Tomestones of Causality.
• Current uncapped normal raid gear ( Anabaseios): Anabaseios Armor and Anabaseios Accessories (item level 640)
• Current ERelic weapons: Majestic Manderville Weapons (item level 645).
  • These are slightly better than Voidcast Weapons because of their adjustable attributes and a higher total number of attribute points.
  • They require the completion of all Hildibrand Quests until Not from Around Here.

  • Note the   Divine Solvent used to upgrade weapons can only be obtained from the savage raid.
• Current extreme trial weapons ( The Abyssal Fracture (Extreme)): ??? Weapons (item level 655)
• Current weekly-capped savage raid gear ( Anabaseios (Savage)): Ascension Weapons (item level 665), Ascension Armor and Ascension Accessories (item level 660). Also rewards items to augment Credendum gear to item level 660.
• Current "best-in-slot" (BiS) gear comprises a mixture of Ascension Weapons and Ascension/Augmented Credendum Armor and Accessories melded with certain materia.
  • This composition varies depending on the job and is intended to maximize desirable substats. Some jobs may have multiple BiS sets with specific Spell Speed or Skill Speed tiers.
  • BiS sets for each job are provided by The Balance.
  • BiS is not necessary to obtain unless if the player is planning on doing  Another Mount Rokkon (Savage) or the upcoming  Another Aloalo Island (Savage) (patch 6.51). BiS primarily allows players to more easily clear existing content.
  • The level 90 ultimate raids,  Dragonsong's Reprise (Ultimate) and  The Omega Protocol (Ultimate) have specific BiS sets for each job that matches their item level sync (605 and 635, respectively). See the above link to the Balance. The criterion dungeons  Another Sil'dihn Subterrane and  Another Sil'dihn Subterrane (Savage) have the same item level sync and BiS sets as the Omega Protocol.
• Higher item level gear will not be released until Patch 7.0.

Crafting and Gathering

• Players who recently reached level 90 can buy high quality Indagator's Tools and Indagator's Gear (item level 620) from the Market Board and meld with materia. With the exception of the primary tools, this will be the best Crafter and Gatherer gear until patch 7.0.
  • Melding guides and crafting rotations are provided by Teamcraft Guides.
• Alternatively, they can farm Purple Scrips (achievable using Lv 80 gear) to buy Afflatus Tools and Afflatus Gear. Using some HQ materials, basic melds,   Calamari Ripieni and   Commanding Craftsman's Draught, this gear can be used to craft high quality Indagator's equipment. This bypasses needing to first invest in melded Pactmaker's Tools and Gear.
  • Note that Afflatus gear, like other Scrip gear, is inferior to high quality Indagator's gear due to being unable to perform   Advanced Materia Melding.
• Current ERelic tools: Splendorous Tools fifth stage - Brilliant Tools (item level 630).
