"My people are on the brink of starvation, If I do not do something, all of their sacrifices will mean nothing."

A Raen of only seventeen summers, Princess Yuki succeeded her father as head of the Yatsurugi after he succumbed to a sickness. Unfortunately for the young leader, this transition coincided with the flooding of the Hakutei River, which ruined much of the clan’s farmlands. As if the kami were conspiring to punish her and her people, five of the Yatsurugi’s most cherished treasures were then stolen.

It was this last incident which spurred Princess Yuki to take drastic action. Having trained in the arts of the shinobi since childhood, she believed she had the skills necessary to hunt down the perpetrators. Her journey led her far west to Eorzea, where with the aid of the Doman ninja Oboro and his Western ninja allies, she at last reclaimed three of the clan’s treasures, which she then sold to raise funds for the restoration of their farmlands. She has since resumed her formal duties, and is the picture of grace and responsibility—though she still has her private indulgences, such as anmitsu, a type of sweet bean and seaweed jelly.

— Encyclopaedia Eorzea Volume II, p. 80

Yuki is an Au Ra Ninja princess from Doma. When Doma fell to the Garlean Empire, her family's estate was looted and several family heirlooms were stolen. Yuki attempted to stop those who would steal her family's relics, but only ended up getting her servants killed. Fleeing, she swore revenge against the thieves and that she would get the relics back.

Over several years, she trained to become a powerful shinobi and mastered their arts. She tracked the relics and the thieves to Eorzea, where she crossed paths with the Warrior of Light and Oboro, who attempted to save her before realizing she did not need to be saved. Though she refused their help, her retainer Akagi implored them to aid the princess in her mission.

Yuki learned that the pirates known as the Salthounds may have had a record of black market sales that would point to where her family's treasures were. As she was about to attempt to infiltrate their hideout, she was intervened by the Warrior of Light and Oboro, who insisted on helping her. Begrudgingly, she agreed, letting the pair handle the guards while she made her way to the list. As they escaped, they were pursued by a man known as Redway. He revealed himself to be the one who had taken her family's treasures, and fled when the Warrior of Light and Oboro surrounded him. Though she didn't want to admit it, she was grateful for their help.

Following the info she received regarding the final artifact she was looking for, she set off to where the Truehounds were selling it. She expressed her wish to go alone, as she didn't want to see anyone else die for her. After Akagi threatened to do just that, she conceded and allowed the others to help her, insisting that they leave if things became too dangerous. Agreeing to this, they set about their plan.

Instead of outright attacking the guards and taking the dagger back, the group waited until it was placed on the Truehound's ship, and snuck aboard. Yuki replaced the Pluto the crew smoked with a lavender incense, causing the crewmates to fall asleep. Once they arrived in the Dravanian Forelands, She began searching for the dagger, but was caught and wounded by guards that were patrolling the dropoff location. The others were also caught, and Redway called Oboro a failure as a shinobi. To prove himself, Oboro offered himself as a hostage, but Yuki intervened, taking his place. The others managed to escape, swearing to rescue Yuki.

Later, the Warrior of Light and Akagi made their way onto the Truehounds ship where they managed to save Yuki, Oboro and her family's dagger. They were confronted by Redway, who was killed by the leader of the Truehounds, Captain Rosalinde for failing her. She attacked Yuki but was defeated. The group returned to shore.

Yuki thanked Oboro and the Warrior of Light, saying she planned to return home to help her people, and would write a letter to Oboro's village elder to thank him for his service.

Yuki would join with the Warrior of Light and Oboro again later when the pair were tracking down a rare Mudra scroll that detailed an intensely powerful summoning jutsu. She assisted the group in attacking Karasu and his minions in order to save Jacke's fellow Rogues, Perimu Haurimu and V'kebbe, as well as the Ninja Tsubame. When Hanzo and his men plan to attack his home village to obtain the other half of the scroll, Yuki helps defend the village.
