Requirements
*Quest: And We Shall Call It Eureka
*Disciple of War or Magic level 70
*Starting Location: Rhalgr's Reach (X:9.8 Y:12.5)
*Starting NPC: Galiena
*Prerequisite: Players must first complete the main scenario quest Stormblood (Quest).

Entering
Players can enter the Forbidden Lands, by speaking to the NPC Rodney in Kugane (X:8.5 Y:14.2). If entering as a party, the leader must speak to the NPC.
* When registering to enter, all party members must be in Kugane.

Party Play
Unlike other instanced areas, Eureka allows the use of party functions such as inviting party members, disbanding the party, and leaving the party without exiting Eureka. You may use the Adventurer List to seek out players close in elemental level to form parties and explore Eureka together. It is also possible to change your online status to "Looking for Party."

* Please note that if you enter Eureka as a member of a party, even if you leave it while within Eureka, you will be returned to the party upon exiting Eureka.

Cooperating with other adventurers
Unlike in instanced duties, in the Forbidden Land, Eureka, you may form and leave parties with other players at will. You may also use the Adventurer List to seek out players close in elemental level to form parties and explore Eureka together.

Changing Class and Jobs
You may change between Disciple of War and Magic classes and jobs inside of each zone's starting camp.
* This includes classes and jobs that have not reached level 70.

Riding Mounts
Previously, fulfilling certain requirements and completing specific quests was required to earn the ability to ride mounts in Eureka. Patch 5.1 of Shadowbringers changed it so that story completion is no longer necessary, and mounts can be ridden immediately.
* Mounts cannot fly in Eureka.
* There are no permeant speed boosts or riding maps for Eureka.

Leveling
Elemental Level
Your strength in Eureka is measured in your elemental level, which may be increased by defeating various enemies and gaining elemental experience points. Your level and EXP accrued will be retained between visits&mdash;progress will not be lost when you depart Eureka. Defeating enemies in Eureka grants elemental experience points, which raise your elemental level.
* Regular experience points are not awarded in Eureka.
** Due to this, normal experience boosting effects do not work in Eureka. The only ways to increase Elemental Experience gain are Potion of Harmony, and a buff from Eureka Elementals.
* If you are partied with players 8 or more elemental levels above you, you will not gain any Elemental Experience from combat. This difference is calculated from synced elemental level.
** A difference of 6 or 7 severely cut Elemental Experience gain, but not completely.
* Additonally, if you kill mobs too many levels above your own, you will gain no Elemental Experience

Penalties incurred when KO'd
When you are KO'd in the Forbidden Land, Eureka, you will lose elemental EXP. However, if you are revived by another player within ten minutes of being KO'd, you will receive no elemental EXP penalty. Furthermore, if your current elemental level is five or below, you will not lose elemental EXP when KO'd. Please be advised that, if your elemental level is eleven or higher, this penalty may reduce your elemental EXP total below zero. Should this happen, you will lose an elemental level.

Elemental Affinity
Magia Board , Magicite and Elemental Affinity
The magia board enhances elemental affinity to give an advantage against enemies in Eureka.

The magia board is divided into six sections, each representing a different element. Melding magicite to the board will enhance the player's affinity to a given element. Magicite is earned by progressing through the Eureka story.
Each Magicite melded to a given element increases your affinity for that element, increasing your defense against enemies of the same element, and increasing your damage against enemies 2 elements clockwise, which are indicated by the arrows on the magia board.

Magicite can be repositioned or reset at the magia melder in each zone's starting camp, and the beginning of the Baldesian Arsenal.

While the magia melder is limited to a few locations, the magia board can be spun to adjust elemental affinity anywhere in Eureka. It is possible to spin the magia board using text commands.

Each spin of the magia board consumes one charge of magia aether. This gradually refills over time and can be completely restored by accessing the magia melder. Your current number of charges is shown as the centermost number on the magia board. Once the board is spin, a timer will start, indicated by a small ring around the magia aether count at the center. While this timer is active, additional spins of the magia board do not cost a charge, and reset the timer. However, bonuses applied from the current state of the magia board are not applied while the timer is active. Additional magia aether charges are regained passivley, and the progress towards the next is represented by the outermost ring of the magia board.

Due to the ability of the magia board to spin, what matters most is the relative positions of the magicite to each other on the board. For example, placing 5 in fire at the magia board would allow you to at any time be fully offensively or defensively aspected via spinning. Additionally, you could place 3 in lightning and 2 in water to always recieve both a offensive and defensive edge.

*5 Magicite are acquired through the story in Anemos, and an additional 2 can be unlocked with sets of 3 rare notorious monster drops.
**However, even with 6 or 7 magicite, only 5 may be set to any element at a given time.

Enemy Affinity
Enemies encountered in the Forbidden Land, Eureka, are imbued with powers of a particular elemental affinity. To overcome these enemies, players must use the magia board in conjunction with magicite to strengthen their own elemental affinity.

The affinity of enemies is indicated by an icon to the left of their display names.

Additionally, when in Pyros and Hydatos, enemies have special attributes based on their elemental affinity:

: Immune to Heavy/Slow<br>
: Increased evasion<br>
: Immune to Stun<br>

Rewards
Rewards Obtained From Combat
TODO - Completely rewrite this subsection

Chains
Upon defeating an enemy of equal or greater elemental level, you will have a limited window in which you may attempt to defeat another. If successful, you will initiate a chain. Defeating subsequent enemies while a chain is active will earn you additional elemental EXP. You will also have an increased chance to receive rewards while above chain 10 and 20. Additionally, kills that give chain 10, 20, or 30, are even more likely to give rewards, and have the potential for additional rewards. After EXP chain 30 is achieved, your chain will end.

Notorious Monsters
In the Forbidden Land, Eureka, you may encounter especially powerful enemies called notorious monsters. You would do well to engage these enemies together with other adventurers if you wish to defeat them. Most notorious monsters will not spawn unless certain mobs in Eureka are slain. These mobs are generally 5 levels above the level of the notorious monster they spawn, and are near, if not inside of the notorious monster's FATE circle. Additionally, some notorious monsters require specific weather conditions to spawn.

Each notorious monster fought will grant a number of the zone's respective crystals, i.e. Pagos Crystal, and each zone's respective lockbox. Some notorious monsters have exclusive drops, such as minions, armor, or rare components for adding additional magicite to the magia board.
