Kurenai Shisui is an Au Ra found in The Ruby Sea. She was first introduced by the Stormblood expansion within the village of Sui-no-Sato. After the completion of the Stormblood main story, she may also become a Custom Deliveries client for players who fulfill certain requirements.

Lore

Although she introduced herself to the Warrior of Light as "sister" to The Ruby Princess, Kurenai is, in fact, the current ruling Ruby Princess of the people of Sui-no-Sato. Like her people, she must strictly adhere to several laws, such as not being allowed to leave the palace, Shisui of the Violet Tides. Desperate to learn more about the world beyond the palace walls, she eagerly reads through any book or tome she can get her hands on, however, this only heightened her desire to venture beyond the palace gates.
Her wish would come true, whether she liked it or not however. At age twenty one, her lady-in-waiting and best friend, Hisui Sui was captured by a Voidsent and her body was possessed. She snuck into Sui-no-Sato and happened to cross paths with the Warrior of Light, who took up arms for her cause. Following the resolution of this small adventure, she was left to reflect on both her future and the future of her people. With great bravery, she disguised herself as a simple maiden and left Sui-no-Sato behind in the hopes of forging ties with the outside world.

And now, as ruler, I judged it past time for another change.” "As the reigning Ruby Princess, Kurenai rules over her subjects in Sui-no-Sato, but she herself is subject to myriad laws. Since birth, she has been forbidden from leaving Shisui of the Violet Tides, the palace of her line. Resigned to living out her days within its confines, she eagerly took to tomes and through them learned about the world beyond. However, she would have no choice but to venture outside for the first time in her twenty-one summers when a terrible voidsent took her dear friend and lady in waiting, Hisui, for its thrall. By the valor of an adventurer she chanced to meet in Sui-no-Sato was the being vanquished and the palace freed from its dark influence. The brief journey she embarked upon in the course of this incident prompted her reconsider the future of her people, and disguising herself, the Raen maiden set out once more--on a mission to forge ties with the outside world."
