Seventh Astral Era Quests

The seventh astral era is declared during the epilogue of the 2.0 MSQ and the end of the Ultima Weapon (during The Ultimate Weapon). With the Calamity appearing to be over and the Garleans repulsed, the Eorzean Alliance intends to focus on prosperity of the three cities and the beast tribes. It also marked the endgame of ARR and a shift towards episodic content, in effect making this quest series retroactively "Post-ARR content" when comparing against the quest series of later expansions. There are in essence six episodes leading into Heavensward, each of the first five (2.1 to 2.5) containing a Trial connected to some of the minor Primals. There is also the Crystal Tower alliance raid, and a parallel series of trials involving the original MSQ Primals, forming a triad of requirements before moving onwards. The crystal tower quests should be picked up before unlocking the Primal hardmodes, to make it easier to complete both objectives at once and avoiding reduplication of trips to each primal location.

Patch 2.1 involved the Thornmarch trial against Good King Moggle Mog XII, as well as the relocation of the Scions to the The Rising Stones within Revenant's Toll, Mor Dhona region. This town was the endgame hub during ARR. Jewellery/Accessories rewards are also provided, but 2.1 was not standardised. Maiming and Striking are offered separately whereas the other patches would offer combined melee Slaying jewellery instead. This patch also unlocked the start of the Crystal Tower, so that questline is available from the start of the era.

Patch 2.2 involved the introduction of the Doman refugees including Yugiri, as well as the fight against Leviathan, the Sahagin beast tribe primal, onboard Trial The Whorleater (Hard).

Patch 2.3 (Defenders of Eorzea) involves the fight against the Sylph "Lord of Levin" Ramuh. (Levin is an archaic word referring to lightning or thunder) at Trial The Striking Tree (Hard). Patch 2.4 (Dreams of Ice) involves the fight against Shiva in Trial The Akh Afah Amphitheatre (Hard). At this point the Warrior of Light will have faced the primals for fire, earth, wind, water, lightning, and ice.

Patch 2.5 (Before the Fall - Part 1) Patch 2.55 (Before the Fall - Part 2)
