Introduction

“

Of all the things that are symbolic of the nation of Ishgard, few are more recognized than the dragoon. Born amidst the timeless conflict between men and dragons, these lance-wielding knights have developed an aerial style of combat, that they might better pierce the scaled hides of their mortal foes. Taking to the firmament as though it were an extension of the land, they descend upon the enemy with every onze of their bodies behind the blow. It is this penetrative power that characterizes the dragoon.

Dragoons fierce combatants who draw their battling techniques from Ishgard's long conflict against dragons. The dragoons' abilities includes a series of aerial moves and precise blows which pierce through enemies.

General information

Guild

The Lancer's Guild is in Old Gridania. Lancers may specialize into dragoon once they reach level 30, and complete the quests Sylph-management and Proof of Might.

Equipment

The dragoon is a disciple of war and wears plate armor. They use polearms as weapons. The following crafting classes can create items that are useful to the dragoon:

• Blacksmith — Polearms.
• Leatherworker — Leather armor.
• Armorer — Plate armor.
• Goldsmith — Earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings.

Dragon Gauge is Dragoon's Job Gauge.

Dragon Gauge

Upon learning the action   Geirskogul at Lv. 60, you will be able to view the Dragon Gauge. This timer indicates the duration of Blood of the Dragon, which increases damage dealt by 10%. Using   Geirskogul grants Blood of the Dragon.

Upon learning the trait   Life of the Dragon at Lv. 70, this timer will now indicate the duration of Life of the Dragon, which increases damage dealt by 15%. Using   Geirskogul will instead grant Life of the Dragon, and allows for the execution of more powerful actions such as   Nastrond and   Stardiver (acquired at level 80).

Available after learning   Lance Mastery III at Lv. 90, using   Raiden Thrust or   Draconian Fury will sharpen the Firstmind's Focus, up to a maximum of 2 units. Once their focus is fully sharpened, you can execute   Wyrmwind Thrust.
