Summary

Combat

• Because level 100 gear will be released over the course of several major patches, players do not necessarily need to slowly increment the item level of their gear if they have recently reached level 100, and can instead jump directly to the highest item level gear that is most accessible.
• [IL 690] Players who recently reached level 99 - 100 should collect Artifact Weapons and Artifact Armor for free. Epochal Accessories drop from three dungeons:  Alexandria,  Tender Valley, and  The Strayborough Deadwalk, but these do not need to be "farmed" to proceed with further upgrades.
• [IL 700] Current uncapped Ctomestone gear ( Allagan Tomestone of Aesthetics): Neo Kingdom Weapons, Neo Kingdom Armor, and Neo Kingdom Accessories
• [IL 710] Current extreme trial weapons ( Worqor Lar Dor (Extreme)): Skyruin Weapons
• [IL 710] Current extreme trial accessories ( Everkeep (Extreme)): Resilient Accessories

• Current "best-in-slot" (BiS) gear comprises a mixture of Skyruin Weapons, Neo Kingdom Armor, and Resilient Accessories melded with certain materia to maximize desirable sub-stats.
  • This composition varies depending on the job and is intended to maximize desirable substats. Some jobs may have multiple BiS sets with specific Spell Speed or Skill Speed tiers.
  • BiS sets for each job are provided by The Balance.

Future

The following is based on patterns of recent expansions and is subject to change:

• In patch 7.01, the first normal raid tier of  The Arcadion will drop weekly-capped items that can be exchanged for IL 710 armor and accessories.
• Higher item level gear (IL 730-735) will not be released until patch 7.05, which will include gear purchased with weekly-capped Allagan Tomestone of Heliometry and dropped from the first tier of  The Arcadion (Savage). New crafted gear from level 100 master recipe books (Master Recipes XI) will also be released on that patch. They will have the same item level (710) as current extreme and normal raid gear but will have different sub-stats and can be pentamelded, generally making it superior for early savage progression.

Crafting and Gathering

As of patch 7.0, the crafted level 100 gear, with specific melds as recommended by The Balance for crafting and gathering, is substantially better than the level 100 gear available for orange scrips, which suffers from bad stats, being job-specific, and lacking accessories.

Future

The following is based on patterns of recent expansions and is subject to change:

• In patch 7.1, there will be new best-in-slot crafted tools and left side armor from Master Recipes XI. However, there will not be any new accessories.
• In patch 7.2, there will be new gear purchasable for Orange Scrips, but will be inferior to melded gear released in patch 7.1.
• In patch 7.3, there will be new best-in-slot crafted tools, armor, and accessories from Master Recipes XII.
