Alexander or Alexander Normal is a level 60, 8-player raid announced during the Fan Fest 2014 in Tokyo. The first section of the raid was released on July 7, 2015, two weeks after the release of Heavensward. Players do not need to have completed The Binding Coil of Bahamut in order to participate in Alexander.
Alexander: Gordias
Alexander: Gordias is the first section of Alexander released on July 7, 2015. It requires a minimum item level of 170.
Rewards
Alexander Normal rewards tokens that can be exchanged to gear at Sabina in Idyllshire (x5,y5). Players can only obtain 1 token per floor per week.

Announcement
Alexander is the primal summoned by the goblins into a large abandoned fortress. Players will be exploring this fortress and battling Alexander from the inside, which will be explained at a later time. There will be a normal and hard mode. Normal mode will be more accessible to players, and won't be as difficult as the binding coil was. Hard mode will be extremely challenging, more-so than the binding coil. Completion of the binding coil is not required to enter this raid, only completion of the new storyline.
Lore
Since the Sharlayan exodus, a structure has stood steady against the flow of the Thaliak River. Now, the Illuminati have summoned a primal around this rusting ruin─a terrible colossus of steam and metal. Steel screamed against steel when it rose from the waters, and it drank deep of the land's aether before grinding again to a halt.
The voices of Idyllshire cry out, asking for aid ere their homes are crushed under the weight of iron. You must lead a band of valiant adventurers into the machina and discover how to destroy the core─lest the giant screeches again to life, and bleeds all the realm dry.
