Official Lodestone Job Guide (Always up-to-date)

Viper uses twin blades to deal swift attacks against enemies. Their weapons can be joined to a single double-edged weapon for stronger attacks, which will also change their idle stance. Their rotation will include numerous off-global cooldown (oGCD) abilities. Viper's core rotation revolves around maintaining damage and haste-granting buffs on the user along with debuffs on the enemy, while using a sequence of weaponskills that define subsequent ones to use. Similar to samurai, viper does not appear to have any party damage buffs, making it a "selfish DPS".

To limit button bloat, many of Viper's weaponskills are assigned to a single hotbar slot, and many of their oGCD attacks are condensed into a few buttons that change the available action depending on the context, similar to gunbreaker's Continuation.png  Continuation.

Vipersight and Serpent Offerings Gauge is Viper's Job Gauge.

Vipersight Gauge

Viper engages enemies mainly through the use of three-step combos, their primary combos beginning with either Steel Fangs.png  Steel Fangs or Reaving Fangs.png  Reaving Fangs. The third step can end with one of several weaponskills, each of which grants an effect to strengthen a different combo-ending action. To reach these actions will require the use of specific combo routes.

The glow of Vipersight's blades correspond with the outlining of hotbar icons to indicate the next step in a combo. Following these indicators will help ensure the use of combos that finish with a strengthened attack.

Serpent Offerings Gauge

Upon learning the trait Serpent's Lineage.png  Serpent's Lineage, the use of certain weaponskills in the execution of combos will serve to fill the Serpent Offerings Gauge. Once sufficient energy has been stored, you can activate Reawaken.png  Reawaken, which will open the Anguine Tributes on the gauge. These tributes can be used to execute several special weaponskills unique to your reawakened state.
