Lore

"For us, there may be no higher purpose than to live for our world, but what of the other living beings out there?"

Hermes was held in high regard not only for his leadership as chief overseer of Elpis, but also for his peerless observational skills. Using his detailed knowledge of the sky and stars beyond, he specialized in the creation of avian beings. Despite the acclaim he received, however, the young man was humble and reserved to a fault. The chief overseer endeavored to treat all living creations of Elpis with kindness, but after seeing so many concepts found wanting and reverted for the betterment of the star, he began to question the value and meaning of life itself. Thus did he conceive the Meteia, who would traverse the great expanse and collect information on faraway civilizations.

Hermes was determined to see his question answered no matter the cost, though his pursuits, earnest as they may have been, would bring naught but destruction to the world unsundered.
