“"Travelers come and go from Ala Ghiri quite often, but should they wish to stay, who they were before coming here doesn't matter."
Born in Ala Ghiri as the only daughter of an inn proprietress, J'dyalani lost her nunh father in battle when the Garleans invaded. Tragically, her mother would also be taken away from her, murdered by an imperial soldier during the subsequent occupation. Yet the Seeker of the Sun forged on, continuing her mother’s legacy with the inn and resolutely enduring the hardship and humiliation of imperial rule. The experience imbued J'dyalani with uncommon tenacity which, together with the leadership and openness she inherited from her father and mother respectively, made her a leader figure in Ala Ghiri. Following the liberation of the village, she labored to save the imperial soldier Baut, who showed her people respect and kindness when his cohorts did not. A relationship would blossom between the two...but if the gossip is to be believed, the twenty-eight-year-old woman had not quite envisioned a future with a once-married man of a different race.
