“"Poison must needs be fought with poison."
Formerly praefectus medicorum—or chief physician—of the XIVth Imperial Legion, Grillairmais was born to a family of Elezen herbalists in an Ilsabardian province. With his vast knowledge of medicinal flora, he became a field medicus upon enlisting in the army, and over the years earned promotions through diligent service. Desiring to distinguish himself further, he embarked upon the development of a chemical weapon.
Using the extracts of poisonous plants native to Gyr Abania, he created Black Rose—a lethal concoction that could kill with its fumes alone. To his dismay, however, the weapon was deemed barbaric by Gaius van Baelsar and the plan for mass production was halted.
Years later, the forty-four-year-old Grillairmais would be found bereft of memory, his mind likely ruined by the very substances he created. Regardless, he has been taken into Twin Adder custody and awaits justice for the slaughter of defenseless prisoners in the course of his heinous experiments.
