The Silent King is the name given to some ruins located in Western Thanalan between Horizon and Vesper Bay.
Thought to be a relic of Belah'dia, the Silent King is the upper half of a colossal statue revealed for the first time in centuries following the recent collapse of a sinkhole. At present, the Order of Nald'thal has dispatched thaumaturges to learn more of its mysteries. Unfortunately, many of the other ruins revealed in the collapse have since been removed by local families for use in the reconstruction of buildings destroyed in the Calamity. [1]
The statue for which the ruins are named contains a clue to the location of the treasure of King Lalafuto III, which is actually a secret compartment within the Silent King itself. However, said treasure turned out to be of a personal nature - letters to his beloved queen regarding his plans to abdicate the throne of Belah'dia and be free of his royal responsibilities. [2]
