Brink of Death icon1.png Brink of Death is a detrimental status effect that causes Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Mind to be reduced by 50% for the duration.

It is received from a player dying with Weakness icon1.png Weakness still active and subsequently being revived during combat.

Respawning (also called a release) after an encounter is over revives the player without the Brink of Death icon1.png Brink of Death debuff. Players should always respawn whenever possible rather than waiting for a healer to revive them.
