Brink of Death icon1.png Brink of Death is a detrimental status effect that causes Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Mind to be reduced by 50% for the duration.

It is received from a player dying with Weakness icon1.png Weakness still active and subsequently being revived during combat.

Respawning (also called a release) after an encounter is over revives the player without the Brink of Death icon1.png Brink of Death debuff. In dungeons and raids, players should always respawn after combat whenever possible rather than waiting for a healer to revive them.
