The Citia Swamps

Dominated by Lake Tusi Mek'ta and blessed with an abundance of water, the swamps are teeming with vibrant life. Their soft ground is an unstable foundation, but the Night's Blessed have persevered, building themselves a home in which they might properly worship the Dark.

— Encyclopaedia Eorzea Volume III, p. 116

The Citia Swamps is an area in The Rak'tika Greatwood, Norvrandt.

Landmarks

Landmark (map icon).png
The Trip

The protruding roots of these towering swamp trees create a strange and unsettling landscape. Various vilekin and wild birds make their nests in these tangled shelters, contributing to the area's unique ecosystem.

Landmark (map icon).png
Fort Gohn

Built by the Night's Blessed, little now remains of this wooden fortification. By all accounts, a fire broke out during a sin eater attack, and even before the violence had ended, the compound had collapsed into a charred ruin. Survivors of the slaughter had no choice but to relocate to nearby Slitherbough.

Landmark (map icon).png
The Deliberating Doll

One legend claims that this squat mountain resting by the shore of Lake Tusi Mek'ta is actually a Ronkan guardian, its duty at an end after battling the entity now sealed within Fruit of the Protector. A different legend disputes this tale, insisting that the battle was fought by Lozatl, a giant whose name yet graces the nearby waterfall.

Landmark (map icon).png
The Red Chalice

The Children of the Everlasting Dark believe the waters of Lake Tusi Mek'ta to be tainted by perpetual Light. According to their faith, the Red Chalice lies protected under the canopy of the woods, and thus its blessed liquid is safe to imbibe. In practice, however, their properties are essentially identical.

Landmark (map icon).png
Woven Oath

This network of caves is home to the Children of the Everlasting Dark—a faction which splintered from the Night's Blessed. Within its twisting tunnels can be found historical artifacts—ancient murals among other things—including a monument inscribed with Ronkan text and its corresponding translation.

Landmark (map icon).png
Cleric

The Night's Blessed built this rudimentary cabin in the roots of a giant tree as a place to rest while hunting or gathering in the wood. It also serves as a forward post, where scouts can keep an eye on the comings and goings of a rival faction of Dark worshipers known as the Children of the Everlasting Dark.

Landmark (map icon).png
Lozatl's Conquest

According to Ronkan legend, the great steps of this waterfall were carved by the giant Lozatl. Historians speculate that this mythical figure was, in fact, an early form of Talos, and likely the selfsame construct responsible for building Ronka's resplendent places of worship.

Landmark (map icon).png
The Womb

Hidden deep within the passages of Woven Oath is a humble altar to the Dark. The Children, it is said, were "born" here, guided by the wisdom of Austadia, their founding leader.

Other locations

Dyers' Wash

This shallow pool is where the Night's Blessed rinse out the excess dye from their emblematic purple cloth. A practical name for a practical purpose.
