From Greek mythology: the Cyclopes, Arges (bright), Brontes (thunder), and Steropes (lightning), and the Hecatoncheires, Cottus (the furious), Briareus (or Aegaeon, the sea goat), and Gyges (or Gyes, the long-limbed), were the offspring of Uranus and Gaia. According to tradition they were imprisoned in Tartarus by their father, Uranus.
