== New front page (work in progress) ==
So, I'm working on the frontpage now (you can check it [[User:Valento/Frontpage|here]], but you need common.css with [[User:Valento/vector.css|my style]] to view it correctly). You might've noticed I've been using a lot of pre-custom css in the wiki. I'm heavily inspired by the [https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Main_Page GW2 Wiki], and in fact most things are copied over from there (do not worry, I'm just using css from there so no copyright infringement). I'm adapting things as I go.<br>
The reason why I'm picking style from there is because their wiki is the best wiki in the world, like, really. I assisted with some things and in the period of 2 years or so they came up with a strong, well-stablished, modern, robust style that makes any other wiki jealous! Even wikipedia can't match.<br>
Erm... well, praises aside, I'm basing off of their wiki and will rework data display to match FFXIV structure. I'm new to this game so I'll need a lot of input in how to organize things simply because there are things I don't know. I hope to have you help me with that too. Also, my English sucks balls, I appreciate any advice regarding my writing, and actually you can go ahead and rephrase whatever you feel like needs rewriting (this is what wikis are about). [[User:Valento|Valento]] ([[User talk:Valento|talk]]) 14:35, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
: Made some progress towards front page. So much to go through! I'll have a different approach regarding game updates, and I'm going to use SMW for that (they use DPL, but although it's not too bad for their use case it's not quite recommended). I have re-written some text you wrote, removed some things here, merged some things there, I want to take caution about the amount of text visible. Tell me what you think until now. == Wiki domain ==
So, again I might sound somewhat weird but bear with me on how I express things! My question is: why have you chosen the ''consolegameswiki.com'' as the domain? Certainly it won't prevent me from adding stuff to the wiki and improving it, but I'm just curious as the name looks somewhat loose as if the wiki would be talking about games in general. [[User:Valento|Valento]] ([[User talk:Valento|talk]]) 15:06, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
:We used the domain because we happened to have that domain when we decided to start the wiki a few years ago. Never thought it would get so big. If we knew we would have chosen something with "ffxiv" or "ff14" in domain. But at that time, most of the good .com names with those phrases were taken. Oh yeah, we thought having "wiki" or "game" the url would help out with SEO lol -[[User:Moogle|Moogle]] ([[User talk:Moogle|talk]]) 08:25, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
== [Important] Protect disclaimers page ==
Please, protect [[Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn Wiki:General disclaimer|this page]]. The disclaimers deal with all things related to copyright. It's very much like GW2's, but I slightly modified it to fit into this wiki. I also added the style attribution and GNU license link, so I think we covered all possible ends regarding copyrights. Oh, and if you find typos or logical errors go ahead and fix them if you can. :) [[User:Valento|Valento]] ([[User talk:Valento|talk]]) 12:41, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
: Also, could you move the content from [[MediaWiki talk:Copyrightwarning|copyright warning talk page]] to [[MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning|main page]]? It's a warning that all assets and data belongs to Square Enix, and this is very important to notify editors. [[User:Valento|Valento]] ([[User talk:Valento|talk]]) 14:12, 12 June 2017 (UTC)

== Template name already taken, permission to overwrite it? ==
Hey, so Item template is already in use, but it differs from my proposal. Besides, it seems to invoke a infobox-like style (which I will do aswell), but the naming suggest a quick link. Can I go ahead and overwrite it? It will probably break a lot of pages. There's a smoother way to prevent completely wrecking the current state of pages: move Item template to something like B-Item (like Backup Item or smth), then mass-replace all <nowiki>{{Item|</nowiki> with <nowiki>{{B-Item|</nowiki>, so I'm free to use the name. I'm holding on this request to proceed with {{tl|Quest infobox}}. [[User:Valento|Valento]] ([[User talk:Valento|talk]]) 19:48, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
: And it came to me that I'm silly... it's better to split item templates into their own main categories: equipment, consumable, etc. Argh, you're gonna spank me now. >.< [[User:Valento|Valento]] ([[User talk:Valento|talk]]) 11:50, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
== Shameless comparison ==
Have you taken a look at gamerescape's [https://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Template:ARR_Infobox_Quest Quest infobox template]? Jesus... all those capitalized words and confusing parameters... [[:Template:Quest infobox|ours]] looks way more concise. I might be missing something because I'm just identifying patterns, but it's already much more clear. == Time to talk big: SMW ==
This would be the second time I've ever talked about [https://www.semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Semantic_MediaWiki Semantic MediaWiki] (first being a GW2 build wiki I contributed). The official page explain how this extension fundamentally changes a wiki, but to say very superficially: it allows us to structure a wiki more like a living database, so we have a clear definition between data and display. It allows us to perform queries (much like SQL), and it cascades very nicely with templates because we can automate categorization and data setting because of the very nature of template reusability. Each template that we set data properties based on input values is called a SMW-driven template, and thus serves as a generic skeleton for saving a chunk of data. Because we are storing data through a template, based on the parameters, ''and'' the template is used for particular subject (i.e. items, actions, quests, etc), we therefore transform each page into a database record of sorts (as I said, it changes how we store data within wikis). The directive we use to pull data is mainly the #show call, but we can display tables by using complex output formats. To set a particular piece of data we uset #set. This means page names will never conflict with canonical names, neither will with icon file paths, we'll have a single identificator for every record (page) we create and every records will have their own properties.
After this long ass explanation, I'd say we aren't changing the wiki. It's still here, and it doesn't change too much, the only thing that changes are templates. Since I don't expect people to understand the underlying architecture of SMW templates neithe touch them, and just use them by examples, we shouldn't run into any trouble.
There will be some [https://www.semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Configuration configuration] to be made I'm sure, because there are many options in there and I mostly forget them. But as a starting point, just installing the ext should provide the needed hooks to start experimenting. And of course, we won't touch content already up. :) [[User:Valento|Valento]] ([[User talk:Valento|talk]]) 17:37, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
== Re: New image files ==
Frankly I'm not entirely certain. I hit "Upload a new version of this file" and put in my new file. Sometimes it works and others it doesn't appear to, its very finicky I feel. [[File:Diversion.png]] seems to be the only remaining one leaving issues. Reuploading or reverting to a previous version has worked with all other instances, but this one escapes me. <small>—''The preceding [[Final_Fantasy_XIV_Wiki:Help#Discussions|unsigned]] comment was added by'' [[Special:Contributions/Variun|Variun]] ([[User talk:Variun|talk]]).</small>

:: Ah, that's fixed it. I knew clearing the cache worked in a lot of instances, but it hadn't seemed to be working with that one. == Self-Promotional Activity ==
Hey Moogle, looks like you're an active admin on this wiki and I couldn't find an ANB, Village Pump, or similar community discussion page. I've noticed that a lot of pages, especially those related to duties like dungeons, raids, and trials, seem to be gathering video guides from single purpose accounts with a self-promotional interest.
Most recently there's been the user [[Special:Contributions/Drcoker80|Drcoker80]] adding their own video guides (>100 edits since Dec 25 2021, the majority of which have only added video guides from the Youtube account Drcoker80 to pages or adjusted formatting on those pages), but it appears that all the guides on pages from the Youtube channel 4PlayerSquadGaming were added by the single-purpose account [[Special:Contributions/Aaronriley1991|Aaronriley1991]] (again, ~100 edits mostly consisting of adding video guides from a single YT channel, including edits to place these guides first or larger on a page when another editor fixes the formatting) and all the guides from the Youtube channel Tom Scott Does Stuff were added by the single-purpose account [[Special:Contributions/TSDS|TSDS]]. In the case of Drcoker80 and TSDS, the account names clearly associate them with the channels they're posting content from, and I'd be surprised if Aaronriley1991 wasn't either the creator of the 4PlayerSquadGaming channel or otherwise interested in promoting it exclusively.
It's worth noting that none of these users started the trend of adding video guides to content, but guides from (for instance) Mizzteq (YT: MTQCapture) and MrHappy (YT: Mrhappy1227) do seem to have been added by regular editors in the process of making other edits, and were not added en-mass by single-purpose accounts. There are also other uses adding only video guides (like [[Special:Contributions/DorkmasterFlek|DorkmasterFlek]]) but from a variety of channels that suggests it's not in promotional interests only.
I have no personal opinion on the quality or validity of the content being added, but the use of SPAs caught my eye and it doesn't seem like there's a wiki standard for when to include video guides or how many to include per page. Left unchecked it seems likely pages could continue to grow and that there'd be no guarantee of quality. I have not done any reverts or changes as this seems like an issue which at least requires bureaucratic direction (it's notable that some editors have removed one or more of these guides to have them added back by the promotional SPAs; as examples see: [[Special:Diff/168213]], [[Special:Diff/168214]], [[Special:Diff/168941]], [[Special:Diff/403243]]).
At any rate it seems like most of these channels are targeting pretty low-hanging fruit (do we really need *four* video guides on [[Sastasha]] or [[Cape Westwind (Duty)|Cape Westwind]]? [[Asphodelos:_The_First_Circle_(Savage)|P1S]] only has two and that seems like plenty; people can search for "ffxiv sastasha guide" on YouTube already). I'd love to know if admins have an opinion on this. Also, if your talk page is not the right place, please let me know what the correct forum is for posting questions like this and about edit waring, vandalism, and the like! Thanks for the help! [[User:LostAllagan|LostAllagan]] ([[User talk:LostAllagan|talk]]) 20:06, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
: Hello! drCoker here and what you've stated here is fair and understandable. I don't feel as though you've targeted me specifically, since you've mentioned that everyone else has been doing this... I'm just the most recent example. I'll stop editing in my videos for the time being then - but this does raise two questions:
:* Might there be an exception for Story videos? The reason I ask is that I am the only person doing this. See [[Patch 3.56]] for example. I don't feel like it's cluttered because there is only one video (per story) but I'll respect the decision if I need to stop posting my Story videos as well.
:* What is the rule for new content? A new dungeon is coming in 6.1 for example... does this mean no videos should be posted on the wiki? Or maybe limit the number of videos? Let me know what you think.
:Thanks for your time! [[User:Drcoker80|Drcoker80]] ([[User talk:Drcoker80|talk]]) 23:02, 17 March 2022 (UTC)

TSDS: Hey how do I talk here? Do I just edit the page like this?<br>
My dudes I've been adding guides here for over 6 years because some of the encounters have only had guides that were massively out of date (like Castrum/Praetorium - which are admittedly out of date following 6.1), or entirely missing of video guides like the Whorleater (Hard). I don't remove the existing guides to only have mine however because that would be a jerk move. I started covering other instances because I know I am able to explain mechanics pretty well and existing guides by popular creators are often quite confusing and sometimes even incorrect because of the rush to get a guide out as soon as the content drops.
Video guides are a far better medium for conveying information than the written format. In that sense I make video guides and I put them here to contribute to the playerbase. Obviously I have benefited from having guides here because it brings some amount of traffic but I am here to provide accurate and well made content. If new people are making guides then that's only a benefit for the community. Some guides may be better than others but why not just have a video guide section at the bottom and let people find creators they prefer? Right now we're only offering, what is it, Mr Happy and Mizzteq guides for players simply because they themselves didn't add them here? Who decides then which creators can be featured? Or was it just so that they were the only ones around when the pages were created and that's that?
I posted about this change on my channel and have had a number of subscribers mention that they will just edit the wiki in that case and put my guides here for me (I have NOT asked anyone to do this). If that happens is that self promotion then? I understand you do not wish for things to get out of control but I do find this ruling a bit random. I can contribute to providing clear explanations for game content as long as I write it, but putting in far more effort and producing a video guide - that's a no no? Huh??
Now we're in a situation where we have entire pages without a single video guide on offer simply because self promotion bad? Cape Westwind doesn't need any guide and we had 4 apparently? So lets say we have one guide. Who decides which one then? Dump a video guide section at the bottom and let people choose who they want. Make a rule that if you add a guide here it must be reasonably able to be seen/heard/understood and with a reasonable amount of effort involved. I have discovered better guide makers than some of the original creators simply through them having their videos here and that's now gone.
I've not taken part in this sort of discussion on a wiki before. It says use 4 tildes to sign the comment? [[User:TSDS|TSDS]] ([[User talk:TSDS|talk]]) 19:11, 10 May 2022 (UTC) is that it? Anyway TSDS out. Let me know if things change because I didn't come here to write guides. RE: Welcome
Thanks for the welcome. I've done a lot of wiki editing in the past so I'm very familiar with the language and coding. I'm glad you like the changes. As for my User:Nekonova/A Relic Reborn page, I would prefer if you didn't copy it across to the live version yet. I'm still figuring out and testing both in my head and in my sandbox what's the best way to layout the Relic / Zodiac Weapons stuff. Thanks! Nekonova (talk) 19:50, 5 January 2015 (PST)
- I've copied across User:Nekonova/Relic Weapon, User:Nekonova/A Relic Reborn and User:Nekonova/Zenith Relic Weapon to their corresponding pages: Relic Weapons, Relic Weapons/Quest and Zenith Relic Weapons/Quest. I think I've fixed most of the bugs / errors that may have happened when I copied it across - and fixed any double redirects. Let me know if you find anymore. Admin Concerns
User Mico90 is updating this wiki with uncomfirmed information regarding Stormblood and banning any user that edits what is posted. Specifically the job Samurai that is only speculated at. Please address this user.
Thank you.
Thanks for the welcome. I'm not completely familiar with the Wiki formatting but I just wanted to contribute and update any details that might be missing! I'll be sure to look around and check up on the template however.
Thanks for the welcome
I've been editing dungeons and trials that weren't specific enough or had incomplete strategies. I hope i help out and thanks again for the welcome
- Edit: are my changes to the pages good?
Hello
I edited the classes section one more time.. thought your content and my content would look better combined into a chart that was more like the jobs chart. It works better "at a glance" like that.
I also went back and edited the Jobs chart to include the role.
I'm very rusty at all this... I haven't edited a wiki since pre-Vanguard Saga of Heroes release... since then I usually depend upon the official websites.. however your wiki was far more comprehensive.
I'm a Newb to FFXIV as in like last week... which is why I have been editing this stuff as I encounter an issue where I don't have enough data or I think it's just not in the ideal format I have been trying to fix it so other newbs have an easier time as this game is fairly complex.
My wife and I started the same day and it was a hassle to figure out how to make 2 classes that started in the same city that would then both be useful in building our "job" which is why I did the starting city break down
I was also confused by class names such as conjurer... in other games that is more like the summoner in this game... not a healer AT ALL... which is why I moved the roles up to the chart area.
My edits may be over at this point. I hope someone else sees it as added value and not "ugg that chart is too big"
I like your modifications on top of mine even more.. good job.
Heavensward Fishing Locations
I've completed all fish in all locations. In Dravanian Forelands however there were 2 "West Mourns" i've since corrected one with the location and fish of "Halo"
Convertibility
Hi there,
I had a question about item convertibility. I was looking around in the wiki but could not find the answer.
Items show if an item is able to convert in material. Some items can't be converted but are usually projectable.
Convertible: No, Projectable: Yes
My question now is what does projectable mean? I was thinking maybe the item can be projected on other gear to look like it, but if so. How do you do that.
Greetings, Marrik
Thank you.
Hi, thanks for the welcome. I am leveling a Machinist in Heavensward so I will try to keep my eye out for any related info in the wiki that needs updated about them. Thanks again! --Ziros22
Sources
I'm relatively new to wiki work, and I wanted to check - what are our guidelines regarding sources? For example, Garland Tools has some great information (GC quartermaster inventory, airship expedition rewards, etc) that are all datamined, and aren't in Libra Eorzea or other SE products. Are those useable as sources? With attribution, perhaps? What sources are openly permissible? Skald359 (talk) 15:54, 2 December 2015 (PST)
Wiki Bot
Do you guys have a wikibot on the site? If so, you should send it through the CGW Wiki's Broken File Links Category page and have it do a blank/null edit on most everything in there. That category gets updated every time a page is created that is missing an image (like an icon), but if the picture is uploaded after then it doesn't get removed from that category until the item's page is edited again. I went through and did some blank edits on about 50 items, and uploaded a couple icons I noticed you guys were missing, but there's over 2400 pages in there.. 90%+ of those could be removed with a simple null edit. If you guys don't have a bot to do that.. then maybe you could open a bunch of tabs up like I did and use keyboard shortcuts to edit, then submit a blank edit to remove them from that category :) That category is extremely handy for actually finding out if you're missing images! If people make the page first (via submit, rather than preview) and then upload the image, then that would explain why there are so many pages in there... Triple Triad
Hello Moogle!
Thank you very much for the welcome, and, if it hasn't been noticed already, I have been working on adding/filling in a bunch of the Triple Triad information. The only difficulty is learning how to format Wikis correctly. However, it has been enjoyable finding things that are not included in the current Triple Triad Cards pages and being able to add them to the Wiki!
I hope this is okay with yourself, and with the contributors to the Wiki! Thank you for being part of such helpful and useful information, and I hope I could become apart of it. ~AtomicHeart

Thank you very much.
I am a bit rusty when it comes to wiki edits, so please bear with me. I'll do my best to help make this wiki great. ~Demendred
Thanks
Thanks for the welcoming message. Regarding the Mining Materials page, i think there's an issue with some icons. Sunrise Tellin has no icon, and Mudstone has the wrong one (in the level 16-20 section).

Hi. Excuse me, but would you be able to turn on user css? I'd like to experiment with a few style on my userpage, but it seems this setting is off... Thank you. :) Valento (talk) 13:27, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hello again. Would it be possible to install this extension? It allows the usage of arraymap to iterate over an array. Thanks! Valento (talk) 13:55, 5 June 2017 (UTC)
- May I have rights to edit MediaWiki:Common.css? Valento (talk) 12:40, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- Also, could you install Variables ext? Ty! Valento (talk) 12:42, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, and please turn on ParserFunctions. It's useful to explode a string. Valento (talk) 12:47, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

- This ext (CategoryTree is very awesome for better visualizing categories. It expands them in a tree-like structure. Could you install it too? Valento (talk) 19:16, 6 June 2017 (UTC)
- Hello! Today's request might sound suspicious, but I hope it doesn't come across as such. I need you to add this content to this page, and this content to this another page. Also, I'm not sure exactly how it's set on back-end (this may prove useful).
- The goal here is to enable this script to be loaded by all users. The script simply offers a show/hide button for tables, and it'll prove extremely handy going forward if we want to keep navigational bars well-structured. Please, let me know how it goes. Valento (talk) 18:16, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- Oh, and I've updated pretty style. Copy this and paste over whatever is there at the moment. Navigation styles are there (you can check it here). :) Valento (talk) 18:29, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

(reset indent) So, could you check this link? Collapsible tables isn't working and this might seem the reason. Valento (talk) 14:17, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- Also, install this extension. It's a pretty-formatted, concise citing extension. Valento (talk) 18:35, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
New front page (work in progress)
So, I'm working on the frontpage now (you can check it here, but you need common.css with my style to view it correctly). You might've noticed I've been using a lot of pre-custom css in the wiki. I'm heavily inspired by the GW2 Wiki, and in fact most things are copied over from there (do not worry, I'm just using css from there so no copyright infringement). I'm adapting things as I go.
The reason why I'm picking style from there is because their wiki is the best wiki in the world, like, really. I assisted with some things and in the period of 2 years or so they came up with a strong, well-stablished, modern, robust style that makes any other wiki jealous! Even wikipedia can't match.
Erm... well, praises aside, I'm basing off of their wiki and will rework data display to match FFXIV structure. Valento (talk) 14:35, 9 June 2017 (UTC)
- Made some progress towards front page. Valento (talk) 21:06, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
Wiki domain
So, again I might sound somewhat weird but bear with me on how I express things! My question is: why have you chosen the consolegameswiki.com as the domain? Certainly it won't prevent me from adding stuff to the wiki and improving it, but I'm just curious as the name looks somewhat loose as if the wiki would be talking about games in general. Valento (talk) 15:06, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- We used the domain because we happened to have that domain when we decided to start the wiki a few years ago. Never thought it would get so big. If we knew we would have chosen something with "ffxiv" or "ff14" in domain. But at that time, most of the good .com names with those phrases were taken. Oh yeah, we thought having "wiki" or "game" the url would help out with SEO lol -Moogle (talk) 08:25, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
[Important] Protect disclaimers page
Please, protect this page. :) Valento (talk) 12:41, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- Also, could you move the content from copyright warning talk page to main page? It's a warning that all assets and data belongs to Square Enix, and this is very important to notify editors. Valento (talk) 14:12, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
Template name already taken, permission to overwrite it?
Hey, so Item template is already in use, but it differs from my proposal. Besides, it seems to invoke a infobox-like style (which I will do aswell), but the naming suggest a quick link. Can I go ahead and overwrite it? It will probably break a lot of pages. There's a smoother way to prevent completely wrecking the current state of pages: move Item template to something like B-Item (like Backup Item or smth), then mass-replace all {{Item| with {{B-Item|, so I'm free to use the name. I'm holding on this request to proceed with {{Quest infobox}}. Valento (talk) 19:48, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- And it came to me that I'm silly... it's better to split item templates into their own main categories: equipment, consumable, etc. Argh, you're gonna spank me now. >.< Valento (talk) 11:50, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Shameless comparison
Have you taken a look at gamerescape's Quest infobox template? Jesus... all those capitalized words and confusing parameters... ours looks way more concise. I might be missing something because I'm just identifying patterns, but it's already much more clear. Valento (talk) 13:13, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Time to talk big: SMW
This would be the second time I've ever talked about Semantic MediaWiki (first being a GW2 build wiki I contributed). Because we are storing data through a template, based on the parameters, and the template is used for particular subject (i.e. items, actions, quests, etc), we therefore transform each page into a database record of sorts (as I said, it changes how we store data within wikis).
There will be some configuration to be made I'm sure, because there are many options in there and I mostly forget them. But as a starting point, just installing the ext should provide the needed hooks to start experimenting. And of course, we won't touch content already up. :) Valento (talk) 17:37, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
Re: New image files
Frankly I'm not entirely certain. I hit "Upload a new version of this file" and put in my new file. Sometimes it works and others it doesn't appear to, its very finicky I feel. seems to be the only remaining one leaving issues. Reuploading or reverting to a previous version has worked with all other instances, but this one escapes me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Variun (talk).
- I've found that the problem is that mediawiki takes a while to update. Wait like 10min-20min and clear your browser's cache. Valento (talk) 18:08, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
Hello.
I updated the kaiser behemoth map with the remaining spawn points for Kaiser Behemoth, but its still showing the old map you guys have up.
Thanks for the welcome (:
Hey thanks for the welcome, im trying to complete some Armours/ Weapons/ etc. on Dungeons. The Sunken Temple of Qarn
Because i noticed that some Details are missing. Im new to editing to Wiki, so im sorry if i did something wrong.
(idk where you guys find the dps things for the weapons, i can only see the magical/pysical dmg, delay and autoattacks.)
I will do my best! ~ Xijin
ValentoExt
I've emailed you a custom extension I made for the wiki. Right now it only normalizes the SMW's record datatype (it's much needed), but later on it may get new uses. Valento (talk) 13:33, 12 November 2018 (UTC)
Self-Promotional Activity
Hey Moogle, looks like you're an active admin on this wiki and I couldn't find an ANB, Village Pump, or similar community discussion page. I've noticed that a lot of pages, especially those related to duties like dungeons, raids, and trials, seem to be gathering video guides from single purpose accounts with a self-promotional interest.
Most recently there's been the user Drcoker80 adding their own video guides (>100 edits since Dec 25 2021, the majority of which have only added video guides from the Youtube account Drcoker80 to pages or adjusted formatting on those pages), but it appears that all the guides on pages from the Youtube channel 4PlayerSquadGaming were added by the single-purpose account Aaronriley1991 (again, ~100 edits mostly consisting of adding video guides from a single YT channel, including edits to place these guides first or larger on a page when another editor fixes the formatting) and all the guides from the Youtube channel Tom Scott Does Stuff were added by the single-purpose account TSDS.
There are also other uses adding only video guides (like DorkmasterFlek) but from a variety of channels that suggests it's not in promotional interests only.
I have not done any reverts or changes as this seems like an issue which at least requires bureaucratic direction (it's notable that some editors have removed one or more of these guides to have them added back by the promotional SPAs; as examples see: Special:Diff/168213, Special:Diff/168214, Special:Diff/168941, Special:Diff/403243).
At any rate it seems like most of these channels are targeting pretty low-hanging fruit (do we really need *four* video guides on Sastasha or Cape Westwind? P1S only has two and that seems like plenty; people can search for "ffxiv sastasha guide" on YouTube already). I'd love to know if admins have an opinion on this. Also, if your talk page is not the right place, please let me know what the correct forum is for posting questions like this and about edit waring, vandalism, and the like! Thanks for the help! LostAllagan (talk) 20:06, 12 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hello! drCoker here and what you've stated here is fair and understandable. I don't feel as though you've targeted me specifically, since you've mentioned that everyone else has been doing this... I'm just the most recent example. I'll stop editing in my videos for the time being then - but this does raise two questions:
- Might there be an exception for Story videos? The reason I ask is that I am the only person doing this. See Patch 3.56 for example. I don't feel like it's cluttered because there is only one video (per story) but I'll respect the decision if I need to stop posting my Story videos as well.
- What is the rule for new content? A new dungeon is coming in 6.1 for example... does this mean no videos should be posted on the wiki? Or maybe limit the number of videos? Let me know what you think.

TSDS: Hey how do I talk here? Do I just edit the page like this?
TSDS (talk) 19:11, 10 May 2022 (UTC) is that it? Anyway TSDS out. Let me know if things change because I didn't come here to write guides. I'll end with another sign thing in case I did it wrong TSDS (talk) 19:11, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
Main page updates
I suggest displaying the current patch somewhere and a list of major new features added (e.g., new dungeon/raids, other side content, etc) for easy access - ideally this section can be edited by anyone. Also please rename "The World Of Eorzea" to "The World of Etheirys", or simply "Locations". - Dr Agon (talk) 04:25, 25 August 2023 (UTC)
ReplaceSet call limit increase
Hello, it it possible to slightly increase the ReplaceSet call limit (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ReplaceSet) ? There is an issue with the limit being released in List of lancer actions under Chaos Thrust. - Dr Agon (talk) 21:42, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
HQ item icons
Hello, would it be possible to modify MediaWiki:Common.css to implement a class for HQ item icons? These would be an overlay on top of the regular (NQ) item icon. Thanks - Dr Agon (talk) 01:58, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
Increasing template transclusion size limit
Would it be possible to slightly increase the max length of templates that can be transcluded to a page? Stormblood Main Scenario Quests now has exceeded the limit due to some changes to Template:Quest list row to make it to clearly display optional and HQ rewards. - Dr Agon (talk) 04:48, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
