Tatabaru is the son of the famed co-founder of Highwind Skyways, Tatanora.

Tatanora was a merchant in the year 1531 who collaborated with Cid nan Garlond and Garlond Ironworks to create Highwind Skyways. Following the advent and subsequent growth of Airship technologies, Tatanora saw the potential in expanding trade routes to the skies, which eventually also expanded into passenger services, connecting the city-states and allowing for travel in a way that had not been possible before. The "Tatanora-class" Airship pieces are named in his honor.
