Lore

“Yea, verily.”

Head of the Tsurugi Clan, which has long served the Rijin, Oroya comes from a long line of great warriors. Like Hakuro, with whom he has ever enjoyed a friendly rivalry, he was conscripted into the imperial army. However, when the riverboat transporting him and other Doman soldiers met with an accident, Oroya used the occasion to fake his death and rejoin the fight as a member of the Liberation Front, and thereafter worked tirelessly to overthrow their oppressors. He was even present during the assault on Doma Castle, and while accompanying Lord Hien is said to have cut down countless Garlean soldiers.

Following the Alliance’s victory in Ala Mhigo, Oroya was reunited with Hakuro, and together they serve as Lord Hien’s advisors and protectors. Though the samurai of thirty and six summers converses easily with his rival over games of mahjong, he is otherwise a man of few words, and when in the presence of the Warrior of Light holds his tongue as a gesture of respect.
