Best-in-slot gear

  • Current "best-in-slot" (BiS) gear comprises a mixture of IL 765 Babyface Champion's Weapons and IL 760 Babyface Champion's/Augmented Historia Armor and Babyface Champion's/Augmented Historia Accessories melded with certain materia.
    • This composition varies depending on the job and is intended to maximize desirable substats. Some jobs may have multiple BiS sets with specific Spell Speed or Skill Speed tiers.
    • BiS sets for each job are provided by The Balance.
    • BiS is not necessary to obtain. BiS primarily allows players to more easily clear existing content.
  • Higher item level gear will not be released until patch 7.4.
  • Players who are doing Ultimate Raid Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) (and to a lesser extent Chaotic Alliance Raid The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic)) are recommended to use IL 730-735 BiS, which will retain materia melds, instead of syncing down higher item level gear. This gear comprises a mixture of IL 735 Dark Horse Champion's Weapons and IL 730 Dark Horse Champion's/Augmented Quetzalli/Clouddark Armor and Dark Horse Champion's/Augmented Quetzalli Accessories melded with certain materia.

Crafting and Gathering

As of patch 7.2, the crafted level 100★★ (green) Everseeker's Tools, Everseeker's Armor, and level 100 Black Star Accessories, with specific melds as recommended by FFXIV Teamcraft for crafting and gathering, are recommended. They are substantially better than the level 100 gear available for orange scrips, which suffers from the inability to pentameld materia. All crafted gear must be HQ icon.png high quality to be considered worthwhile.

  • In patch 7.3, there will be new best-in-slot crafted tools, armor, and accessories from Master Recipes XII.
