While the identity of Pandæmonium's assailant is yet unknown, Erichthonios makes no effort to hide his doubts concerning Lahabrea, who he suspects is using the infernal prison for private experimentation. As if to confirm to the warder's suspicions, a familiar appears in the halls of Asphodelos, claiming to be none other than the chief keyward himself. The creature mocks you with cryptic warnings before vanishing, leaving naught but questions in its wake. Their answers beckon from the shadows of Abyssos, daring brave souls to seek them out.

— In-game description

Abyssos: The Fifth Circle is a level 90 raid introduced in patch 6.2 with Endwalker.

Phases & Abilities

Aggressive difficulty r6.png Mythic Creation: Proto-Carbuncle

  • Searing Ray: A large area of effect attack that hits all parts of the area in front of Proto-Carbuncle. The staffs floating around him indicate the attack as doing magic damage. The AoE comes from the center of its hitbox, leaving plenty of room behind him to avoid the attack.
  • Ruby Glow: A strong raidwide attack that either divides the room in half diagonally, or quarters vertically and horizontally. The walls can be walked through. Any abilities Proto-Carbuncle does that hit the wall will affect the entire segment.
  • Crunch: A light tankbuster.
  • Topaz Stones: Proto-Carbuncle drops several stones that deal magic damage in a small area of effect around them.
  • Sonic Howl: Raidwide damage, weaker than Ruby Glow.
  • Acidic Slaver: A weak raidwide signalling the second phase of the fight. Stuns the party and forces a cutscene.

  • Toxic Crunch: A strong tankbuster that applies Poison icon1.png Poison that cannot be removed with Esuna.png  Esuna.
  • Venom Squall: A set of three attacks. First, places grounded AoEs under some players. Next, applies AoE markers on all players. Finishes with a stack AoE. Stack up to bait the grounded AoEs, spread out for the markers, and come back in for the stack AoE.
  • Topaz Stones: Now also places poison stones that grow in size, starting after the first Venom Squall.
  • Starving Stampede: Places 5 blue markers on the ground around the arena, and a red bite marker that indicates the order in which they explode, dealing damage in a large AoE and Stun icon1.png Stunning anyone hit. Proto-Carbuncle is invincible once this attack goes off, allowing you to focus on dodging. At the end of the attack, Proto-Carbuncle will throw anyone Stun icon1.png Stunned into an AoE that instantly kills them.
