A merchant of fifty-two summers, Akebono comes from a long line of apothecaries, and left his home of Suenokuni behind to come to Kugane and open his own shop. With the aid of rare Hannish reagents, he swiftly achieved great success and built a reputation as a consummate businessman. However, he has also been criticized for his ruthless strategy of cornering the market on particular medicines that he might raise their prices and reap tremendous profits.
