All along the shoreline here, there's a sight to write home about. Shards of the false moon Dalamud, that's how it happened. They say it was a rain of fire. The sea boiled off in moments and left those pillars of salt...

— In-game description

The Gods' Grip is an area in Lower La Noscea, La Noscea.

The Salt Strand.
Candlekeep Quay.

The Gods' Grip is the southernmost section of Lower La Noscea. It is located on a small island south of the rest of Lower La Noscea, connected by the bridge Oschon's Embrace. The area used to be the end of a peninsula before the Calamity broke open a ravine, cutting the Gods' Grip away from the rest. The area contains two ports, with its main importance to the city of Limsa Lominsa being the shipyard of Moraby Drydocks.

Settlements

Aetheryte (map icon).png
Moraby Drydocks

Headquarters of the official shipbuilders of Limsa Lominsa, Naldiq & Vymelli's, this large shipyard and port is kept busy repairing and crafting vessels.

Landmarks

Landmark (map icon).png
Oschon's Embrace

A bridge connecting the Gods' Grip with the rest of Lower La Noscea. Constructed by the city of Limsa Lominsa after the Calamity split the land apart. The bridge was begun swiftly due to the importance of Moraby Drydocks, though construction is still ongoing. It is large and sturdy enough to accommodate wagons and large supplies being hauled across for shipbuilding.

Landmark (map icon).png
Empty Heart

A freshwater spring which serves as an important water source for the surrounding settlements. Often overtaken by diseased animals, which must then be culled.

Landmark (map icon).png
The Salt Strand

A once-normal beach along the southwest coast transformed when directly hit by a portion of Bahamut's flames during the Calamity. The flame and the surrounding water, sand, and rock crystallized, with the flame itself still giving off a glow at night.

Landmark (map icon).png
Oschon's Torch

A lighthouse at one of the southernmost points of La Noscea. Operated by Rostnzeh.

Landmark (map icon).png
Candlekeep Quay

A small port once only used by the candlekeep of Oschon's Torch, this settlement gained wider use after the Calamity temporarily took Moraby Drydocks out of commission. It has now grown to handle a significant flow of traffic, primarily merchants, tradesmen, and supplies, from Limsa Lominsa to the surrounding areas.
