Byregot is the purveyor of architecture and industry, and god of the arts. He commands the element of lightning and is associated with the seventh moon of the Eorzean calendar. Byregot is the elder brother of Halone, and pupil of Thaliak. He is most often depicted as an ardent smith with a two-handed hammer. His symbol is the hand.

Long considered a myth, Byregot, along with other members of the Twelve, appeared after the death of Hydaelyn. He appears similar to most mortal depictions of him, with curly brown hair, a halo of nails, and wearing greco-roman clothes. He later reveals that he sometimes visits the mortal realms in the guise of a spriggan.

Byregot and other members of the Twelve, claim they are not primals, haven't been summoned, and do not consume aether. They further claim that Louisoux did not summon them over Cartenau, but rather effigies of them given form by faith.

According to the Faith of the Twelve, in the Heaven of Lightning, a massive clockwork spire was forged from a comet by Byregot and powered by the levinbolts of Rhalgr. This is the resting place of engineers, architects, revolutionaries and the conquerors of evil. Levin charged fragments fall from here into the Pit, forming the Hell of Lightning, a land of damnation for vandals, slumlords and warmongers. When visiting Byregot and Rhalgr's plane, the spire is visible, though it doesn't seem to hold spirits.
