Bosses

Temporary notes, please clean up with proper names and such:

Haven't seen a guide up yet but I ran it last night after the patch and here's my notes if anyone wants to use them. I left out some obvious aoe dodges but I think I got all of it. I'm sure you guys will find other things. First boss Death Gaze

  • Doom is randomly cast on 2 people, must be cleansed by healers
  • Green icon over head will drop a tornado. Drop these away from others and towards edges of ship
  • Red/Black AOE in center will pull you in, keep running away from it, as it will try to pull you in again a second time, after second pull it will explode for massive damage
  • Green AOE in center will explode and push you away, also does more damage the closer you are. Best bet is to stay centered,to avoid being knocked off, and as far away as possible to lessen damage
  • Pulse AOEs that form when he switches sides will become ice blocks. Line up with ice blocks as soon as they form to avoid falling off
  • Dirty ground is an enrage timer, also occasionally will pulse and hit people standing on it

Second boss Ferdiad

  • 4 Atomos spawn (2 blue 2 gold) boss will tether one, then the matching one will AOE.
  • If the AOE orb is blue it will be a big circle AOE(run away)
  • If the AOE orb is gold it will be a ring/donut AOE(stand under it)
  • Add killing phase
  • Atomos will shoot in a line sometimes
  • A couple of the adds use petrify, look away to avoid)
  • Ferdiad will cleave in front of him at some point during this phase, AOEing the entire half of the room
  • Small AOE circles will spawn
  • If Fire Resistance is down turn them all blue
  • If Water Resistance is down turn them all red

3rd boss Queen

  • When wings(?) get really big be in front or behind THEM, boss direction doesn't matter
  • When she ports she will do large aoe a few seconds later
  • When message about shadows on the ground pops up, stop all movement, otherwise little arms grab you and do a good amount of damage
  • Occasionally she will turn toward party and do line aoe, sidestep it
  • Move adds away and kill, if they get too close they tether and buff her
  • Giant hands are weeping angels(look at them they stop moving), these should be killed ASAP
  • Add killing phase(dps check)
  • Multiple waves of enemies will spawn and must be killed quickly
  • A Chimera will spawn during this portion, he has typical "voice attacks"
  • After this phase she will do a room wide AOE with damage based on how much you killed

4th boss Diabolos

  • Lots of familiar moves
  • Gates are priority
  • After a while there will be 2 doors that spawn things and 1 big door. Kill small doors asap
  • Watch for more small doors as you kill big door 3 times

5th boss Diabolo Hollow(2nd form)

NEW GAME MECHANIC

  • He will do a large "group up" type AOE COMBINED with a "look away" AOE. People should stack on this person BUT also look away from them
  • All the mechanics from last fight plus some from queen
  • Watch for the line aoe from queen
  • Uses earthquake from t13
  • Gates again
  • Big gate is now cerberus style, some dps should go in(all?)

Rewards

You can receive only one reward item per week for completing duties in Dun Scaith. In the event you are awarded an item from the loot list, you relinquish your right to vie for all remaining items regardless of whether you selected Need or Greed. If time expires and a reward item is obtained automatically, this will also count toward the weekly limit.

  • Reward eligibility is reset every Tuesday at 12:00 a.m. (PST).

Each party in the alliance will receive its own treasure chest, the contents of which will be identical regardless of the route taken.

  • Players cannot open a treasure chest belonging to another party.

Completion Reward

Upon completing Dun Scaith, players can also earn a separate reward once per week. This reward can be exchanged with Bertana in Idyllshire (X:5.8 Y:5.2) for items used to enhance equipment purchased with Allagan Tomestone of Lore.

Lore

The ancient tome recovered by Captain Radlia of the Talons tells of a floating refuge─an island created by Mhachi sorcerers to provide safe haven from calamitous floodwaters. With the disaster that befell the Void Ark, however, the island's intended residents never arrived. Cait Sith is convinced that Diabolos has instead claimed this refuge as his own, transforming what was to be a bastion of hope into a voidsent nest of shadowy nightmare.
