Dye is an action unlocked by questing at level 15. It is available for any class or job.

Dye their gear, they must complete the quest 
Color Your World in Vesper Bay (X:12.6 Y:14.3) of Western Thanalan by speaking to the NPC Swyrgeim.
Color Your World requires the player to deliver 
Orange Juice to Swyrgeim. Players can purchase a bottle of Orange Juice from the Merchant and Mender (X:12.1 Y:13.8) in Vesper Bay.
General Information
- Players can dye their armor into different colors. One source of dyes is purchasing them from dye vendors in the following places (
Goobbue Grey Dye used as an example):

- A second batch of dyes are crafted by any level 30 crafter class.
- A third group of dyes are only available from ARR Tribal Vendors.
- A fourth set of dyes are bought from Enie in The Firmament (12,14) with
Skybuilder's Scrip from the Ishgardian Restoration, or from the Horrendous Hoarder with 
Seafarer's Cowries from Island Sanctuary. - A fifth set of dyes are bought from Mesouaidonque in Sinus Ardorum (21.8, 21.8) with
Cosmocredits. - Lastly, General-purpose or Green dyes are only acquired very rarely from Quick Exploration Retainer Ventures (via the
Venture Coffer lootbox).
- These last ones have an untradeable equivalent that can be bought on the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store for real money and produce the same colors.
- Some metallic dyes can be obtained as rare drops from Cosmic Fortunes.
All but the last set are always singular flat color tones. A subset of the last set (in the Dye window grouped as the last set also) offers colors with a metallic shining look.
Most dyes, excluding those sold in the cash shop, can be sold or purchased on the Market Board for gil. Rarer dyes, such as 
General-purpose Pure White Dye or 
General-purpose Jet Black Dye can fetch high prices (hundreds of thousands of gil).
Usage
To dye a piece of armor, click on the Dye icon in the Actions & Traits menu or right-click the desired equipment and select the Dye option.
- Dyes can be removed from armor by using the item named
Terebinth, bought from a dye vendor.
Example
Gyuki Leather Jacket in its original color, and dyed in 
snow white, 
rolanberry red and 
metallic red.
Dual Dyes
Beginning in patch 7.0, certain pieces of equipment have two dye channels, allowing two separate dyes to be applied, each dyeing different parts of the item. Gear that is compatible with two dyes will have two dye tabs displayed in the dyeing interface. Additional equipment will be made compatible with two dye channels in future patches.
