[[Resistance Weapons]] are the level 80 [[Relic Weapons]] for [[Shadowbringers]] first released in [[Patch 5.25]]. Players need to complete the [[Resistance Weapons/Quest|Resistance Weapons quest chain]] to obtain one of the relics, and they are heavily tied in with the {{questlink|bsf|Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr}} storyline. As players advance through the Resistance Weapons quests they will be able to obtain job-specific weapons which can be enhanced as they progress. The Resistance Weapon quests employ a system which will require players to proceed using the same class or job with which they accepted the quest. | |||
[[ | In contrast to [[Eurekan Weapons]], wherein all upgrade items are obtained from {{questlink|eureka|the Forbidden Land, Eureka}}, players can choose to either participate in Save the Queen content for upgrade items or obtain them from other means. However, proceeding to a certain point in the Save the Queen storyline is required to unlock the final stages of Resistance Weapons. | ||
[[Replica Resistance Weapons|Replicas of completed Resistance Weapons]] can be purchased from [[Regana]] once players have finished {{questlink|repfeature|The Will to Resist}}. | |||
'''Relic weapons from past expansions are not intended for combat use*, but for cosmetic, [[achievements]], and collection purposes.''' Weapons of similar power, for the same player level, that are much more easily obtainable and are intended for character progression can be bought with {{tomestone|Poetics}} [[Allagan Tomestones of Poetics]].''' | |||
<nowiki>*</nowiki>Final-stage (Blade's) weapons are considered "best-in-slot" for older (Lv. 70 and 80) [[ultimate raids]] due to having more substats when synced down. However, the gains in damage compared to using a Lv. 90 weapon are marginal, and it is not necessary to go out of one's way to acquire them. | |||

This is arguably the most annoying step in the Shadowbringers relic weapon series, especially because it must be repeated for each weapon the player wishes to obtain. The easiest way to acquire Timeworn Artifacts is to farm the [[Delubrum Reginae]] raid. Solo queuing using the Duty Finder equivalent is not recommended due to the unpopularity of the duty since the release of [[Endwalker]] (patch 6.0). While the queue is guaranteed to pop after 10 minutes, only a few players will likely be matched and the run could take a long time (1 hr+). A better method is to use [[Party Finder]], preferably at peak hours in the data center. Note that these groups will require the use of damage-boosting [[Item-related Lost Actions|Essences]] to expedite the run. There are also various Bozja-oriented Discord servers that sometimes have scheduled Delubrum Reginae runs. | |||

Resistance Weapons are the level 80 Relic Weapons for Shadowbringers first released in Patch 5.25. Players need to complete the Resistance Weapons quest chain to obtain one of the relics, and they are heavily tied in with the Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr storyline. As players advance through the Resistance Weapons quests they will be able to obtain job-specific weapons which can be enhanced as they progress. The Resistance Weapon quests employ a system which will require players to proceed using the same class or job with which they accepted the quest.
In contrast to Eurekan Weapons, wherein all upgrade items are obtained from the Forbidden Land, Eureka, players can choose to either participate in Save the Queen content for upgrade items or obtain them from other means. However, proceeding to a certain point in the Save the Queen storyline is required to unlock the final stages of Resistance Weapons.
Replicas of completed Resistance Weapons can be purchased from Regana once players have finished The Will to Resist.
Relic weapons from past expansions are not intended for combat use*, but for cosmetic, achievements, and collection purposes. Weapons of similar power, for the same player level, that are much more easily obtainable and are intended for character progression can be bought with Allagan Tomestones of Poetics.
*Final-stage (Blade's) weapons are considered "best-in-slot" for older (Lv. 70 and 80) ultimate raids due to having more substats when synced down. However, the gains in damage compared to using a Lv. 90 weapon are marginal, and it is not necessary to go out of one's way to acquire them.
Lore
For years, Bozja─homeland of the Hrothgar─has remained at the mercy of Garlean rulers. But the Empire has fallen into disarray, and the people of Doma and Ala Mhigo have risen up to challenge their authority. The Bozjans, while heartened at this news, yet lack the means to join the rebellion. To that end, they seek a standard under which their people may gather. A weapon of legend...

Repeatable quest: Resistance Is (Not) Futile
To unlock the quest chain, players need to be level 80 with a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic and complete the Main Scenario Quest Shadowbringers, as well as The City of Lost Angels. Players can obtain one of the relics for free by speaking to Zlatan in Gangos and completing the Side Quest chain (Hail to the Queen> Path to the Past > The Bozja Incident > Fire in the Forge). For subsequent relics you will need to complete the Repeatable Quest Resistance Is (Not) Futile, in which Zlatan requires you to obtain and turn in 4 Thavnairian Scalepowders (Available at Auriana in Revenant's Toll (x: 22.7 - y: 6.7), Hismena in Idyllshire (x: 5.8 - y:5.2), or Sundry Splendors near the main Aetheryte in any major city except Kugane and the Crystarium for 250 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each, or 1,000 total).

Repeatable Quest: For Want of a Memory
To upgrade their weapons, players need to be level 80 with a Disciple of War or Disciple of Magic and the Main Scenario Quest Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty and both the Side Quest Where Eagles Nest and the Side Quest A Sober Proposal, as well as own one of the Resistance Weapons obtained in the Side Quest Fire in the Forge.
Players can take the first step to upgrading their relics by speaking to Zlatan in Gangos and completing the Repeatable Quest For Want of a Memory by trading in 20 Tortured Memories of the Dying, 20 Sorrowful Memories of the Dying and 20 Harrowing Memories of the Dying obtained as random drops from Skirmishes, Critical Engagements, and enemies found in The Bozjan Southern Front or as guaranteed drops from FATEs located in Heavensward areas. You do not need to have your Resistance weapon equipped, or even be the same job, to earn tortured/sorrowful/harrowing memories.
Although Critical Engagements may not be the fastest way to collect memories of the dying, it's highly recommended that you run Critical Engagements anyway until you reach rank 10, because that's required for one of the later steps. Memories drop from Skirmishes and CEs in the following areas of The Bozjan Southern Front:
Augmented Resistance weapons look identical to their non-augmented versions, but can be dyed.
After reaching rank 10, you may prefer to farm any remaining memories of the dying from Heavensward FATEs, as the drop rate is merely average in Bozja, but 100% from Heavensward FATEs with Gold rating. Memories can be acquired from the following zones:
- Tortured: Sea of Clouds, Coerthas Western Highlands
- Sorrowful: Dravanian Forelands, Churning Mists
- Harrowing: Azys Lla, Dravanian Hinterlands
You do not need to have your Resistance weapon equipped, or even be the same job, to earn tortured/sorrowful/harrowing memories.

Repeatable quest: The Will to Resist
Players can upgrade their weapons again by completing the Repeatable Quest The Will to Resist by trading in 6 Bitter Memories of the Dying obtained from Level 60 Dungeons, once per day from Duty Roulette: Leveling or as a random drop from Critical Engagements in The Bozjan Southern Front. You do not need to have your Augmented Resistance weapon equipped, or even be the same job, to earn bitter memories. Please note that you have to do them "properly". This means you cannot do it unsync. A popular dungeon is The Antitower due to its lack of item level sync. Premade parties of Blue Mages with appropriate spells are also beneficial for fast dungeon clears.
Recollection weapons gain an aetheric glowing effect, and can be dyed.

Law's Order Weapons (iLvl 510)
- Main article: Law's Order Weapons/Quest
Repeatable quest: Change of Arms
Before you can proceed, you will first need to raise your Resistance Rank in Bozja to 10 and complete Castrum Lacus Litore. Then you'll need to complete the one-time Side Quests A Sign of What's to Come, Fit for a Queen, and In the Queen's Image to advance the Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr story. This will require completing a solo story instanced duty, as well as clearing the Delubrum Reginae raid.
The next stage comes from the Repeatable Quest Change of Arms. You will need to obtain and turn in 15 Loathsome Memories of the Dying. They can be acquired from any of the following sources:
- Defeating the final boss of Castrum Lacus Litore grants a guaranteed 5 memories.
- Clearing any Crystal Tower alliance raid grants a guaranteed 1 memory.
- Completing critical engagements in The Bozjan Southern Front has a chance of granting 1 memory.
As with previous steps, you do not need to have your Recollection weapon equipped, or even be the same job, to earn loathsome memories.
When upgraded to Law's Order, the weapons will have a new model, and will no longer glow.

First One-Time Grind
Before you can unlock the ability to augment your Law's Order weapon, you will need to complete the one-time Side Quest The Resistance Remembers, which requires you to collect and turn in 18 Haunting Memories of the Dying and 18 Vexatious Memories of the Dying. This grind only needs to be done once, and does not need to be repeated for additional weapons.
- 3 Haunting Memories of the Dying drop from Shadow of Mhach (Heavensward) alliance raids ( The Void Ark, The Weeping City of Mhach, and Dun Scaith). They also have an estimated 61% chance[1] to drop from FATEs in the three Gyr Abania zones: The Fringes, The Peaks, and The Lochs.
- 3 Vexatious Memories of the Dying drop from Return to Ivalice (Stormblood) alliance raids ( The Royal City of Rabanastre, The Ridorana Lighthouse, and The Orbonne Monastery). They also have an estimated 61% chance[1] to drop from FATEs in the three Othard zones: The Ruby Sea, Yanxia, and The Azim Steppe.

Repeatable quest: A New Path of Resistance
Afterwards, to upgrade your weapon you will need to complete the Repeatable Quest A New Path of Resistance, which requires you to collect and turn in 15 Timeworn Artifacts. Upon turning them in, you will need to decide how to allocate the stats on your weapon.
- Timeworn Artifacts have a chance to drop from the Palace of the Dead (higher drop rate in deeper floors), and 3 will drop from every run of the Delubrum Reginae raid.
When upgraded to Augmented Law's Order, the weapons will gain a glow effect.
This is arguably the most annoying step in the Shadowbringers relic weapon series, especially because it must be repeated for each weapon the player wishes to obtain. The easiest way to acquire Timeworn Artifacts is to farm the Delubrum Reginae raid. Solo queuing using the Duty Finder equivalent is not recommended due to the unpopularity of the duty since the release of Endwalker (patch 6.0). While the queue is guaranteed to pop after 10 minutes, only a few players will likely be matched and the run could take a long time (1 hr+). A better method is to use Party Finder, preferably at peak hours in the data center. Note that these groups will require the use of damage-boosting Essences to expedite the run. There are also various Bozja-oriented Discord servers that sometimes have scheduled Delubrum Reginae runs.

Reallocation of Stats (Optional)
Should you decide the stats on your Augmented Law's Order weapon need to be changed, you can do so by talking to the Allagan Node (x5.9, y4.8) in Gangos and selecting "Forged Anew". You will need to equip your Augmented Law's Order weapon and turn in 4 phials of Aetherial Sealant, which can be purchased from Auriana in Revenant's Toll (x: 22.7 - y: 6.7) or Hismena in Idyllshire (x: 5.8 - y:5.2) for 100 Allagan Tomestones of Poetics each, or 400 total.
Second One-Time Grind
After completing both the one-time quest A New Playing Field to unlock Zadnor and the Repeatable Quest A New Path of Resistance for your chosen weapon, you can complete the one-time quest What Dreams Are Made Of, which explains the next steps and requires you to talk to some NPCs. After that you will need to complete the following one-time quests: Spare Parts, Tell Me a Story, and A Fond Memory, you can pick them all up at once. This grind only needs to be done once, and does not need to be repeated for additional weapons.
- Spare Parts: Collect 30 Compact Axles and 30 Compact Springs.
- Tell Me a Story: Collect 30 copies of A Day in the Life: Battles for the Realm and 30 copies of A Day in the Life: Beyond the Rift.
- A Fond Memory: Collect 30 Bleak Memories of the Dying and 30 Lurid Memories of the Dying.
Quest | Source of Loot Item 1 | Source of Loot Item 2 |
---|---|---|
Spare Parts | Compact Axle 1 per skirmish in The Southern Plateau (Zone 1) 1 per Alexander raid clear (1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10) |
Compact Spring 2 per critical engagement in The Southern Plateau (Zone 1) 1 per Alexander raid clear (3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12) |
Tell Me a Story | A Day in the Life: Battles for the Realm 1 per skirmish in The Western Plateau (Zone 2) 1 per Omega raid clear (1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10) |
A Day in the Life: Beyond the Rift 2 per critical engagement in The Western Plateau (Zone 2) 1 per Omega raid clear (3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12) |
A Fond Memory | Bleak Memory of the Dying 1 per skirmish in The Northern Plateau (Zone 3) 1 per Eden raid clear (1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10) |
Lurid Memory of the Dying 2 per critical engagement in The Northern Plateau (Zone 3) 1 per Eden raid clear (3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12) |
The raids present an alternative source of obtaining these items that does not require participating in Zadnor content. For all three of these quests, players cannot use the Unrestricted Party option to run the raids unsynced. They have to be run "properly" with full parties and level sync enabled. In general, the quickest raids to run are:
- Alexander - The Fist of the Father and Alexander - The Burden of the Father
- Deltascape V1.0 and Deltascape V3.0
- Eden's Gate: Resurrection and Eden's Gate: Inundation.
With this relic series no longer being current content, queuing for the raids repeatedly in Duty Finder is not as fast as it previously was. It may be worthwhile to make a Party Finder party with 6 DPS, 1 tank, and 1 healer for more efficient farming.
After completing the three quests listed above, complete the one time quest A Done Deal.
Blade's Weapons (iLvl 535)
- Main article: Blade's Weapons/Quest
Repeatable quest: Irresistible
Next, you will need to do the repeatable quest Irresistible, which requires you to collect 15 Raw Emotions. These can be obtained from the following sources:
- The Dalriada (3)
- Delubrum Reginae (2)
- Level 70 Stormblood Dungeons (1) Dungeons must be run synced, without the Unrestricted Party option enabled. A popular option is Hells' Lid. Premade parties of Blue Mages with appropriate spells are also beneficial for fast dungeon clears.
- Heaven-on-High (1) The higher the floor, the greater the random drop chance.
Upon turning in the quest, you will need to decide how to allocate the stats on your weapon.
This step will complete the Blade's weapon, which will gain a new model and a glow effect. In addition to the Replica that Regana sells, she will also offer a "Matte Replica" version of the Blade's weapon, which has the same model, but no glow effect. Replicas cost 1,000 each.
