General Information

Scholars are healers with fairies as their pets. Scholar is evolved from the class Arcanist, as is Summoner. Wielding books, Scholars have all the abilities and traits of Arcanists. The most important stat for the scholar is mind, which increases healing magic potency. The level of your Scholar is equivalent to that of your Arcanist. Scholars use books as weapons, and do not equip anything in their off-hand.

Requirement

• Level 30 Arcanist
• Completion of Main Scenario quest: Sylph-management
• Completion of Arcanist Class quest: Sinking Doesmaga

After completing the level 30 Arcanist quest and fulfilling the aforementioned level requirements, speak with Murie, the Arcanist Guild Receptionist. You will receive the quest Forgotten but Not Gone, which will grant a Scholar Soul Crystal upon completion. Additional Scholar quests are available every 5 levels from Alka Zolka inside the Marauder's guild in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks.

The Scholar job is equipped through the armory chest soul crystals tab in the bottom right-hand corner. It may be removed by unequipping the soul crystal in the bottom right-hand corner of the character window.

Bonus attribute points previously spent in the Arcanist class are not reset when the scholar job is equipped.

Actions

As of Final Fantasy XIV's 4.0 expansion Stormblood. There are changes in the skill set available for Scholar/Arcanist, the list of abilities lost are as follows:

• Eye for an Eye is part of the Role Actions (DPS only).
• Miasma II
• Spur
• Sustain
• Virus is removed and replaced by Role Actions, split into Addle for caster DPS (affecting magic stats) and Feint for melee DPS (affecting physical stats).

Aetherflow & Faerie Gauge is Scholar's Job Gauge.

Aetherflow Gauge

Upon learning the action   Aetherflow, the Aetherflow Gauge will be displayed, indicating stacks of Aetherflow.

Aetherflow can be used to execute certain actions such as   Lustrate (acquired at level 45) and   Excogitation (acquired at level 62).

Faerie Gauge

Upon learning the action   Aetherpact, you'll be able to view the Faerie Gauge, which displays the amount of fae aether.

Fae aether is accumulated when you use   Aetherflow to execute certain actions such as   Lustrate or   Excogitation during battle while a faerie is summoned. Accumulated fae aether can then be used to perform   Aetherpact.

Upon learning the action   Summon Seraph, you can temporarily call Seraph to fight alongside you in place of Eos. The Faerie Gauge will indicate how much time remains before she must return.
