Lore

"Should your heart quake with sadness, cast your mind to the heavens and remember."

A humble Arkasodara of Akyaali, Matsya labors as a fishmonger to support himself and his kin. After the Tower of Zot drove others to flee, he attempted to stay and sell his catch in Yedlihmad but was dismayed to discover that even Khalzahl's operation was in dire straits. Fortunately, Matsya crossed paths with an adventurer who aided him in his cause.

Though he claims to be soft-spoken and terrible with people, he showed great courage when the Final Days brought death and despair to his homeland. He attributes his survival to the old gods of Thavnair, from whose wisdom the twenty-two-year-old finds comfort when faced with hardship—for one must strive to stand fast when waves of sorrow break against the shores. On occasion he decorates the stone statues of the Manusya with local flowers, that he might give thanks for their countless blessings.
